Crystals have been used over the centuries for a myriad of purposes - from healing to protection to decoration. Knowledge of crystals has been used in ancient Atlantis, in South America, Egypt, Tibet and many other cultures around the globe. Early works on astrology, written in Sanskrit and dating back to 400 BC, make elaborate observations on the origin and power of stones. Today, with the advancement of technology, ruby crystals, natural and man-made, are used in lasers for microscopic surgery. Quartz crystals are used in ultrasound devices, watches, as well as memory chips in computers, etc.In Feng Shui, crystals are widely used for the specific energy, or vibrations, they bring to the space.

SIX WAYS TO CLEANSE AND
PREPARE HEALING GEMS Before you begin wearing any of your gems, you should cleanse them thoroughly. Cleansing is a very important process of preparing your gems - be they precious or semi-precious -before using them for healing purposes. And I don't mean just washing them with soap and water. You do not know where your gems had been before they got to your hands so it is very important to cleanse them of any negative energy that might have become attached to them. The following are six methods you can employ to cleanse your gems. Any one of these methods works as well as the others. You can choose to use either one method you feel most comfortable with, or even a combination of two or more. Method 1: Use Running Water. Leave your gems under running water for six to seven hours. This method is one of the easiest and requires very little effort. Running water is, essentially, a very powerful method of cleansing. Method 2: Bury in Earth. Bury your gems in some earth overnight. Come morning, rinse them off thoroughly. This method will work well for those who have a nice patch of garden with lots of rich soil. Method 3: Cleanse With Fire Hold your gem in the flame of a candle. Keep it in the flame until the candle melts away. The powerful cleansing properties of fire will help to clear all negative energy. Method 4: Revive With Quartz Place your gem amongst a heap of quartz for several days. This method revives the inherent energy of your gem through contact with the quartz. Method 5: Energize With Sunlight For best results, you should make use of the most powerful source of Yang energy to cleanse your gem. After using anyone of the previous four methods of cleansing, place your "cleansed" gem in direct sunlight to further purify and energize it... Method 6: Immerse in Milk In addition to the other five methods of cleansing, all gems - with the exception of red coral and ruby -should be immersed in raw milk for at least three hours to remove all impurities.Substitute with soapy water for your red coral, and put your ruby in lemon juice. Remember to keep your gem completely immersed for at least three hours, whatever the case. This method will effectively draw out all the impurities present in your gem and dissolve them altogether. Whatever the combination of methods you choose to apply, it is good practice to include both methods 5 & 6. Combined with any of the first four methods, the last two will ensure your gems are completely "clean".
FengShui with Faceted Crystal Balls
Faceted crystal balls are a very popular contemporary fengshui cure. Hold one of these lovely objects up to a sunny window or other light source and a multitude of tiny "rainbows" will fill the room. Each little rainbow contains all the colors of the visible spectrum, bringing both vitality and balance to the room. This ability to split a beam of light and send it radiating in many directions makes faceted crystal balls an ideal protection against "secret arrows" of sha (negative) chi. This feng sui cure also radiates blessings wherever it is placed, and is a powerful magnifier of your intention.Feng shui crystals are most often hung from the ceiling, in a doorway, or in windows, but they can be used anywhere you want to enhance chi. Good places to use feng shui crystals include:
For added impact, you can hang your fengshui crystal from a red string or ribbon cut to a multiple of nine inches (9", 18", 27"). The ball can hang any distance from the ceiling; it's the cut length of the string that is important. If you buy crystal balls from a fengshui supplier, they may come with red cord already attached.Another way to add power to your crystal is to use a beaded string that includes smaller crystals and accent beads in colors that support the energy of a specific intention or area of the ba gua (green and purple for prosperity, for example, blues and black for career, or pinks and red for romance). Semi-precious stone beads such as amethyst, peridot, garnet, turquoise, onyx, and rose quartz can also be used to add beauty and good vibrations. You can also place a faceted crystal ball on a desk, table, or home altar. Wear a little one on a red ribbon around your neck to activate your personal chi, or hang one from the rear-view mirror of your car to enhance, bless, and protect you while you drive. The size of your crystal should be appropriate to the size
of the space where you plan to use it. a large home or room should be 40mm or larger. The 30mm size is good for smaller spaces, beneath ceiling fans, or over your bed or desk. The little 20mm crystals are too small to have much effect on a room, but are just right for the interior of your car.Faceted crystals come in many different shapes, and even different colors. A pink heart-shaped crystal, for example, can be a lovely addition to kun gua to encourage romance. For general use, however, or when you need a powerful cure, a colorless faceted ball is usually the best choice. The highest quality faceted crystal balls are made by Swarovski Crystal. The Swarovski name guarantees that your crystal will be free of imperfections that could potentially make this cure less effective. Dirt, dust, and fingerprints can also lessen the effectiveness of your cure, so be sure to clean your crystal at least once a year, or more often if necessary. After cleaning, you can take a moment to empower the crystal with your strong intention to protect, bless, or energize the space.High-quality faceted crystal balls can be expensive in the larger sizes, but the quality and power of a really good crystal is worth the investment. If you find a faceted crystal ball that appears to be a tremendous bargain, remember that you will probably get what you pay for: inferior quality and less-than-perfect results. In fengshui, faceted crystal balls are used to expand the energy of an area. Each facet spreads the reflected light in a different direction, hence the faceted ball actually radiates energetic light, which is the reason why we use them to expand areas that are otherwise tight, dark and close. Use them in narrow hallways, or to energize a empty-feeling, 'flat' or dull-feeling area. They are also used to give energy and raise the chi of the relationship or prosperity quas, or to help draw in helpful people. My daughter Cheryl keeps one at her desk to keep the chi moving so that she is more alert while studying. These genuine Swarovski faceted crystal balls are the best and the brightest !
About Partnership and Ventures If you have a friend who wants to join venture with you in starting a business. The first things usually considered are financial feasibility, product marketability, location, facility, and so on. Emphasizing on how much should be invested and how much profit can be made. Often within a year or two of the
business, friends
have become enemies, resulting in bitter disputes and
lawsuits. Because very seldom are life cycles, compatibility of personal energy fields, or fengshui considered. Many partnership businesses failed due to the lack of wisdom in using fengshui. Wise people would have considered the potential energy field of the five elements that fills the empty space around them. This is something completely different than what the common eye can see, and yet, it is a vital factor that has the greatest impact on your life's path. This is known as the "invisible factor" which is the natural law of cause and effect.I'll use an everyday example that everyone has experienced to explain. For instance, when you meet a perfect stranger, there are three different types of reactions: 1) ease and comfort where there is an attraction to get close; 2) dislike or hate and wanting distance; or 3) neutrality. This is a natural phenomena of "chi." It is something we cannot see, yet we can feel intuitively. FengShui Tips for Small Spaces Small spaces are a fengshui challenge. For those living in studio apartments, college dormitories, or shared apartments (where your bedroom is your only private space) combining multiple uses and activities in one room can make following the "rules" of good fengshui difficult or even impossible. The key thing to keep in mind when applying fengshui to a multi-purpose room is that meeting any one fengshui guideline is likely to interfere with other basic recommendations. When your space and options are very limited, some of the normal fengshui guidelines may have to be broken in order to make the best possible use of the space. Here are some pointers for how to make the best of small quarters, and when to bend or even break the fengshui rules. Keep Small Spaces Clutter-Free Too many purposes and activities in one space almost always equal a clutter problem. We think of clutter as being things we don't use or need, but too many things in too small a space are also a form of clutter -- even if every one of those too many items is essential or beloved. The smaller your room, the more likely it is that you have more stuff than you can manage and not enough storage space. The bottom line here is that even a small amount of clutter will make a small space seem smaller. One fengshui guideline you may have to break is the recommendation not to keep anything under the bed. In a small living space, the benefit you will gain from having one more place to keep things out of sight will far outweigh the chi-blocking effects of under bed storage. Do be thoughtful about what you keep under there, however: soft, cushy items are best for keeping under the bed: out-of-season clothing, extra towels or beddings, etc. Make it a habit to spend five minutes putting things away each night before you to bed, so the room will look tidy when you wake up in the morning. If there's no door on your closet, hang a fabric or beaded curtain to hide the contentsfrom view. Bed Position Takes Precedence One of the most important fengshui guidelines is to have the bed, desk, major sitting areas and -- if possible -- the stove each in the "command position." When many or all of these elements are in the same room, something has to give. My advice is to position the bed first, and then figure out where everything else goes.Using the command position means placing the bed where it has a clear view of the doorway, without being directly in line with the door. The head of the bed should be against a solid wall, and not right next to a window. If your room features exposed ceiling beams, place the bed so it is not directly underneath them. All of these recommendations are designed to help you get a good night's sleep and protect your health and energy. In a small space, you may be unable to comply with any of them. That's okay. Focus instead on figuring out where you will sleep most comfortably and soundly, which will generally be where you will be most protected from potential distractions, such as the sound of your housemate taking a shower in the morning while you try to sleep in, or a too-bright streetlight outside your window. If you've not been sleeping well, think about what physical factors may be contributing to that, then look for an alternative bed arrangement and try it for a week to see if it's better. When you've decided on the best bed placement, you can then see if any fengshui remedies are needed, such as mirror placed to provide you with a view of the door. Keep it Light and Bright Dark colors will make a small space seem even smaller; pale walls and a white ceiling keep a room bright. Indulge your love of intense colors in your choice of accessories and fabrics, rather than wall color. Painting one wall of the room an accent color can make the space seem larger; if the room is all white, pick a pale shade of blue, green, pink, or yellow based on your personal color preference. If the room is already a pastel shade, use paint just one or two shades darker for the accent wall. Don't go too dark, and stay in the same color family. If you must share your sleeping quarters with a workspace, try to place the bed and desk as far from each other as possible. Make the wall on the desk side of the room your accent wall. Accent Lighting Adds Interest There's a good chance your room has one light fixture in the center of the ceiling, and that's it. This casts even, but often inadequate, light over the entire room and usually means that whatever you are trying to read or study is in shadow. A torch will brighten the entire room indirectly by bouncing light off that bright white ceiling. If you don't have space enough for a torch, invest in a small "gooseneck" desk or table lamp and place it on a table or the top of a bookcase with the light turned up to the ceiling. Have a second task lamp for your study or work desk, and experiment with turning the central ceiling fixture off and just using your torch (or other up-light) and task lighting. Using several different light sources in different parts of the
room will make the space feel larger by
dividing it into separate functional areas.
central ceiling fixture:
lighting is harsh and even;

torches and task light: adds contrast, helps to define the space Mirrors Expand Your Space Invest in the largest mirror you can afford, and place it where it will make the room seem largest. If your room only has one window, place the mirror where the window will be reflected. This will help to visually enlarge and brighten the room. This suggestion contradicts the fengshui guideline not t o have a mirror in the bedroom, but the benefit of visually expanding your space will outweigh any potential detriment. Remember, your goal is to make the best possible use of the limited space available to you, and that means knowing when too-strict adherence to the fengshui "rules" works against you. Direct Your Attention The first thing you see when you enter the room will affect how you feel and function in your space. If the first thing you see is your untidy desk piled high with unfinished projects and assignments, you may feel exhausted and overworked all the time. If the first thing you see is the bed, you may spend too much time napping and not enough time studying or giving those projects the attention they need. It's easy to create an attractive focal point with a framed poster or other artwork above a table, dresser, or bookcase in view of the door. Keep that surface tidy and free of clutter. Add an accent lamp, and set a timer to turn the lamp on before you come home if you will be arriving after dark. When you enter your room at the end of the day, the lamp will draw your attention to your focal point and give you a pleasant first impression of your space. If you absolutely, positively can't manage all of your clutter, try to keep it where it will at least be out of your direct line of sight when you enter the room.
a focal point draws attention away from the bed/desk;keep clutter out of sight Small spaces don't have to be cramped, cluttered, uncomfortable, or lacking the basic attributes of good fengshui. With a little care and attention you can arrange the space for both your work and sleeping comfort. Do You Have Monsters Under Your Bed? There are different fengshui cures and rituals (especially those from the BTB practice) that involve placing something under your pillow or between the mattress and box spring or in a specific position under the bed. The reason these methods are effective is due to two fundamental rules of fengshui. The first is the principle of proximity, which states that the closer something is to you the stronger its effect will be. The second is the principle of duration, which means that the longer you are exposed to a particular influence -- whether beneficial or harmful -- the stronger its effect will be. If we all were getting that elusive eight full hours of sleep every night, we'd be spending a third of our lives in bed. Even with long days, too much do to in too little time, and the chronically sleep-deprived state of so many people, it's probably safe to say that the average person is spending about 25% of his or her time in bed. Keeping the factors of proximity and duration in mind, this means that whatever is happening with the fengshui of the bedroom is going to have a big impact. And whatever is going on around the bed is even more important. Since you are probably well protected from below by a nice thick mattress, whatever you've got stashed beneath your bed isn't likely to be physically harmful. But, as I hope you know by now, in fengshui the symbolic meaning or energy of an object is just as important as whatever literal impact it may have. If you are using the under bed area for storage, take a moment to think about the symbolic implications of whatever is down there, especially if you haven't been sleeping well. If you aren't sure what's under there, it's time to take another look. Here are some types of things that you ought to find another place for: - Shoes. Lots of people keep extra shoes under the bed, but this can keep you "running around" all night even when you are sound asleep. - Exercise clothes or sports equipment are also less than relaxing. I cringe every time I channel-surf past an infomercial showing how conveniently some piece of exercise magic folds up flat to slide out of the way underneath the bed. Unless you want to feel like you're "going nowhere fast" in life, don't store your treadmill or rowing machine or aerobic step under the bed. It's best not to have any kind of exercise or sports equipment in the bedroom at all if you can find another place for it. - Books and work or school papers can have an intellectually stimulating self-effect; if you have trouble turning your mind-chatter off so you can fall asleep at night, make sure you are not sleeping on top of a lot of information. Plus, chances are good that if you're keeping that stuff under the bed it probably isn't at all current, so all that old information is also energetically holding you in the past. - Guns and knives. I really hope you don't feel the need to have these in your house at all. All that potential violence is not conducive to a good night's sleep, no matter how "safe" it may make you feel. A fengshui friend once told me she'd consulted for a guy who collected knives, and who kept that collection under his bed. No wonder he complained of a long string of failed relationships. Regardless of any other qualities he may or may not have had, that's a lot of cutting chi underlying what should be a place for romantic connection. I'm sure that no matter how long I made this list, there are plenty of folks with all kinds of things under their bed that I would never think of. These examples should give you some idea of the sort of potentially disruptive effect the stuff under your bed can have. Ideally, you won't store anything under your bed at all, but if you must use that space for storage reserve it for soft, cuddly items like extra bedding or your winter sweaters. And you may even find a good use for that space by placing something with positive symbolic meaning there, so you can take conscious advantage of the proximity and duration effect. For example, I have heard that laying a mirror face up under the bed can help with insomnia; symbolically the mirror reflects the bed downward, thus drawing the person in the bed "downward" into deep, restful sleep. (I haven't tried this myself, so I'd love to hear if it works for you.) For a child who is frightened of imaginary monsters under the bed, placing a super-tough-guy action figure under there could provide some important protection. Sweet dreams everyone. When to replace your Bed? If you're getting a full eight hours of shut-eye each night, you're spending a full third of your life in bed. Even if you get by with less sleep than you need, that's still a major chunk of your life. While you are sleeping, your pillow, sheets, blankets, and mattress are absorbing your energy and that of whoever is sharing your bed. When a long-term relationship ends, the person who leaves gets a fresh start and whoever keeps the furniture keeps all that old energy with it. If you are still sleeping on the same bed that you used during a marriage or long-term relationship that is now over, you are sleeping in energy that holds you in the past. This is why fengshui experts advise getting a new bed following a divorce. Given the cost of furniture, buying a new bed may not be an option for everyone who is starting over alone. Do not try to economize by getting a second-hand bed or mattress! If you think sleeping in your own old energy is yucky, why would you want to sleep in a stranger's energetic nest? If you can afford a new mattress and box spring, this is a great time to get them. And if you feel inspired to get a new bed frame, too, that's even better. If you can't afford a complete fresh start, do at least spring for (in order of priority): new pillows; new sheets; a new mattress pad; new blankets. •••May all your relationships be joyful and fulfilling, FengShui for Wealth Making the Most of Your Wealth Generator Many people become interested in fengshui because they hear that it can help to enhance financial well-being, increase money luck, and attract a more abundant cash flow. With these tantalizing goals in mind, they rush to find the Wealth area of their home and lose no time filling it up with Chinese coins, wealth vases, lucky cat figurines and all sorts of luck-enhancing images and objects. All of these are fine fengshui tactics, but there's another wealth area that is often overlooked: the kitchen stove. In ancient cultures the hearth fire was accorded sacred meaning, and was often located in the center of the home. Fengshui recognizes the symbolic importance of the cook-stove as the heart of the home and the place where we receive Nature's blessings in the form of physical nourishment. If the kitchen has good fengshui, the thinking goes, the cook will be relaxed and happy. This good energy will be transferred to the food being prepared, which will taste good, so we eat well. Eating well helps to keep us healthy and strong, we therefore are able to work hard and earn more money. Bad fengshui in the kitchen, on the other hand, creates an environment where the cook is tense and unhappy, the food is poorly prepared, we eat less well, lose our strength, and are no longer able to produce a good income. This sequence of events may seem far-fetched in an era when most of us earn our living through sedentary professions rather than through physical exertion, and when overeating is more of a health problem than malnourishment. Nevertheless, fengshui regards your kitchen stove as the "Wealth Generator" for your home and family, and it deserves some of your fengshui attention. Here are the three most important things you can do to help your family prosper financially by keeping the chi of your Wealth Generator strong and active: 1. Make sure that every part of your stove is working the way it should. Do all the burners work? Does the light in the oven go on when you open the door? Does the oven heat accurately? If your stove includes a clock or timer, is it set to the correct time? Pay special attention to the back burner on the left: visualize the bagua placed over the stovetop, and you'll see that this burner is in the Wealth position. If this burner is not functioning properly it can have a serious impact on your financial health. In general, any problems with the mechanical functioning of your stove are likely to indicate problems with your ability to earn or hold onto money. 2. Keep your stove -- and the rest of your kitchen - immaculately clean. Dirt is a form of sha chi (negative energy), and a dirty stove can crud up your money flow faster than anything. Plus, crumbs and drips are unsightly and attract bugs, another sign of deteriorating chi. Ants and roaches in the kitchen mean there's yucky energy around, so set out some roach motels and grab that bottle of oven cleaner. While you're at it, take out the garbage before it starts to smell, too. Bad smells of any kind are a sign of bad chi, and that nasty kitchen trash can is a frequent culprit. I have worked with quite a few clients with less-than-pristine kitchens, and every one of them complained of money problems. 3. Use it or lose it! At the other end of the spectrum from lackluster housekeepers are the clients who don't cook. Their kitchens may be spotlessly clean, but it's because they are never used. A stove that is never used is like a field left unplowed; all that potential prosperity goes un-harvested. If your meal preparations are limited to ordering in or pushing the buttons on your microwave, make a point of using your stove once a day for 27 days, even if all you do is boil water for a cup of tea. Vary which burner you use, so they all see equal action, and have the strong intention that as you turn the stove on each day you are activating your Wealth Generator. No discussion of kitchen chi would be complete without mentioning the importance of the Command Position. Basically, if your stove is positioned so that you face the wall with your back to the room, you are in a vulnerable position while you cook. The recommended cure is to hang a mirror over the stove so that you are able to see behind you. If you can, position the mirror so that the stovetop is also reflected in it: this symbolically doubles the burners and, by implication, doubles your money! Keep your stove functioning and looking as shiny and new as possible, shine up that tea kettle and use it from time to time, and you may find that your financial life has taken on a new shine as well. Wealth and Prosperity, as we have often heard, begins with the right mindset. Even with the practice and teaching of contemporary western fengshui, we have always emphasized the right intention, the appropriate frame of mind, to ensure success. This is because ultimately, as quantum physicists have been saying for quite some time now, consciousness determines the kind of reality we experience. This is not new age, this is science. People who attract wealth into their lives do so because they have a certain way of thinking. Knowledge alone is not enough. Two people trained in the same school of business equipped with the same knowledge may produce two completely different results. The one who unconsciously expects to succeed will succeed. While the other one who doesn't, although he or she might consciously want to succeed, won't. That's an important distinction. We all want to be more prosperous on the conscious level. But what really matters is what's "under the hood." This is what developing Prosperity Consciousness is all about. If you have the right Prosperity Consciousness, you WILL attract the right circumstances, the right people, the right knowledge, and make the right decisions, to draw prosperity into your life. The good news is that we can all be trained to do this. The Feng Shui of Giving The premise that everything in our inner and outer experience is connected is integral to fengshui, and is especially important when applying fengshui to issues of wealth and prosperity. Experienced fengshui practitioners look at the ba gua not just as a pattern of areas of influence, but also as a guide to how these
different aspects of life are
connected. generosity of others and of the Universe in all forms. When money issues are foremost in a client's mind, skilled practitioners may begin with an examination
of hsun gua (the "wealth" area), but they
will also explore what is going on in another key area. friends" area, chien gua is generally thought of when there is a need for mentoring, support, or assistance of some kind. When we are dealing with money issues, however, chien gua reminds us to examine how we are acting as a benefactor to others, by giving generously of our time, attention, experience, insight,
skills, and yes, our money if we
have any to spare. incorporate the energy of giving into your quest for greater prosperity is to think about how getting what you want will also benefit others. As you imagine your
desired future prosperity unfolding, include details about how others will
benefit as well. you would like to buy for family and friends this holiday season. You could consider how having enough money to paying your bills on time supports the businesses and people who provide you with goods and services. If your desire for a luxury vacation were to be fulfilled, consider how that would benefit hotel and restaurant employees at the resort where you will stay, the site-seeing tour operators, and how your vacation purchases will help in a small way to support that local economy. If your dream is to be able to afford a newer car or a bigger house, think about the person who will buy or lease your old one and the benefits it will provide to its new owner. As you imagine what it will be like to have more than enough money for all of your personal and family needs, think about what
charitable organizations you would like to support as
you have more and more available to give. whole, like the yin and yang represented in the tai chi symbol. Giving is so integral to prosperity because it opens the heart to receive. It is a powerful way to express your gratitude and appreciation for all that you have received, and your trust that even more blessings will come to you in the future. Most people who are blessed with wealth feel a desire to give back in some way. For example, many people think of Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft, as someone who enjoys immense wealth and power, without giving thought to the fact that he is also among the world's greatest philanthropists. When you give--whether to an individual, a charitable organization, as a patron of the arts, or to your church--you embody this important aspect of wealth and place yourself in the company of millionaires and billionaires around the globe. It has often been said that money can't buy happiness, but I don't believe that's true, either. If you are fortunate enough to have a little extra coming in this holiday season - even if it's just a dollar or two - try giving some of it away. If you don't have money to give, look for opportunities to be a "helpful friend" to others by giving of your time, knowledge and skills, or your compassion. You'll discover a very special kind of happiness that only comes through sharing your fortunate blessings with others. Feng Shui with Fountains Water fountains are among the most popular and effective of fengshui cures. As a form of moving water fountains bring prosperity and good luck to the home, whether outside in the yard or placed inside the house. As is often true in fengshui, size is not always the most important factor: even a small tabletop fountain can have a big effect when it is used appropriately. In addition to symbolizing prosperity, the sound and motion of gurgling water activates chi and adds humidity to a dry room, helping to restore balance. Moving water gets things going when the chi has been stagnant for a while, like ice melting in the spring after a long winter.
Fountains
are appropriate anywhere you want to enhance water or wood energy, especially in
guas. (For those who follow the compass directions, these are the north, east, and southeast sectors. Green plants, representing wood energy, are a wonderful addition to many fountain placements. Fountains are often used near the front door to attract prosperity chi to the home. Some fountains have an equal flow of water on all sides, while others are more like a miniature waterfall with the stream cascading down in one area only. If the water flows down in one direction - rather than equally on all sides - make sure you place the fountain so that the water is flowing toward the interior of the home. Keep the relationship among the fengshui elements in mind as you choose and arrange your fountain. Copper fountains are very beautiful, and a good material choice because metal supports water in the Creative Cycle. Stone, cement, and ceramic fountains energetically block the water element; be sure to add some kind of metal in or around these kinds of fountains to support the water chi. For example, you could add nine coins to a stone fountain, or set a ceramic fountain on top of a metal patio table. You can usually adjust the sound of a water fountain by changing the water level; if your fountain is too loud, try adding more water to it. Some fountains also come with an adjustable pump, so you can vary the speed with which the water flows. Experiment until you find a tone and volume that sounds right. Be guided by your personal response, and choose another cure if a fountain isn't right for you. A water fountain is not recommended to be placed in the bedroom. Be sure to add more water to your fountain as it evaporates, to avoid possible damage to the pump if the water level gets too low. Depending on your climate and the size of the fountain, this could be once a week or every day. If you will be away from home for several days or longer, unplug the fountain while you are gone and fill it with fresh water when you return. The regular attention required by a fountain is a useful reminder to give regular attention to the financial details of our lives as well. As you check the water level in your fountain, take a moment to mentally review whether there are any other prosperity-related tasks that could use a few minutes of your attention, such as catching up on this week's bills, completing your expense report, or balancing your checkbook. A well-placed and maintained water fountain can help increase the flow of money chi into your life. Taking proper care of that money is up to you. Prosperity Tips The use of rice as in blessing ceremonies and as a symbol of prosperity dates back to fengshui's roots in an agrarian culture. When the harvest is plentiful, the family has lots of food; when food is plentiful, the family is strong and healthy; when the family is strong and healthy, its members can work hard and prosper. To make you own simple prosperity cure, fill a small bowl with uncooked rice, and stand or bury 3, 6, or 9 coins in the rice. Place the rice bowl in a prosperity power spot or on your home altar, with the intention that it your wealth with grow and that you will reap a bountiful harvest of prosperity. You can also write a specific prosperity wish, and place it in a red envelope. Rest the envelope against the rice bowl, or place it underneath. Wishing you joy and prosperity, Using Mirrors to Enhance Prosperity One reason mirrors are so useful in fengshui is that they create a virtual double of whatever they reflect. Since the stove represents prosperity, a mirror placed where the stove burners are reflected in it is said to increase prosperity. You can use this principle elsewhere as well. For example, a round mirror (3", 6", and 9" are good sizes) under a fengshui prosperity cure or object will reflect and symbolically double it. The simple rice bowl method discussed in above can be placed atop a round mirror for greater effect. The Fast FengShui wish books I've created work on the same principle: facing mirrors inset into the inside covers symbolically multiply your wish written on a slip of paper and placed between them. Quick Prosperity Cures With tax season just behind us, many people have finances on their minds, either waiting for that refund check to arrive, feeling the pinch of a tax bill just paid, or hoping they will somehow do better this year. If your wallet is feeling lighter than you'd like it to be this month, try one of these three quick fengshui wealth
enhancements for your home
or office. especially for this purpose. Place 3, 6, or 9 coins in the rice. You can either bury the coins in the rice or insert them sideways so part of the coin sticks out above the surface. If you have incense sticks around, place three sticks of incense in the rice as well. Place the rice bowl in a prosperity power spot or on your home
altar, with the intention that it will help you to
experience a healthy cash flow. perfect for this, but you can use any kind of container) near your front door or in a wealth power spot. Do this every day for 27 days. On day 28 count up your
coins and spend that money on some kind of a treat, and enjoy the experience of
having extra money to spend on something non-essential. or anywhere else they may appear. Whenever you see one, pick it up, and say "thank you!" Start each day by visualizing for a moment that you've found another coin, being sure to feel the satisfaction and appreciation that it brings to you. Collect your found coins in a bowl or other container in the wealth corner of your home or office. Although you may not find a coin every day (my personal best is 3 consecutive days, but that's still far above what most of us consider "normal"), it is likely that other kinds of surprise cash will come to you while you do this, such as a friend repaying you for a Rm50 loan you'd forgotten about, or an unexpected discount or rebate on a purchases. The important thing is to expect "found money" to come into your life, and to notice, claim, and appreciate it when it does show up. lack of money is counterproductive. And please keep in mind that cash flow cures - while fun and often very effective - are just one aspect of fengshui, and are not a substitute for making any other changes or improvements that may be indicated for your space.
Symbols
of Mentors As mentioned in a previous article, the compass direction that houses the trigram of power, Chien, is the northwest. Thus you should energize the northwest to activate the kind of luck that brings influential friends, mentors and advisers into your life. northwest corner of the home. You may use representations of the many different gods and heroes in the Chinese culture such as Kuan Kung, the legendary hero from the days of the three kingdoms - he was deified many years ago as the God of Wealth and Protection. Statues of Kuan Kung stand proudly in many Chinese homes and offices, as his countenance is believed to impart protection and support from powerful people. Paintings or sculptures of religious or spiritual leaders may also be used as they represent divine blessings room heaven. Alternatively, if you're not particularly religious, symbols that strongly suggest powerful and successful leaders of your own cultural and historical background may be used. All the great traditions of the world have their own folk heroes and legendary figures. Choose figures whose achievements or positions signify the kind of luck you desire. For example, if you're an American, you may wish to display a painting of a past successful leaders of your country whose qualities you admire. Example if you're French, you can display a bust of Napoleon. If you're a budding actor or singer, you may want to get a poster of a successful actor or singer whom you idolize and wish to emulate. Or, if you're in a caring profession such as counseling, nursing or care giving and wish to learn the ways of kindness, generosity and patience of the late Mother Theresa, you'd want to get a painting of this icon. Hanging pictures or placing statues of these mentors in the northwest of your home can be very effective. One final word of advice: the statues or figurines can be made of metal, ceramic, crystal or clay, but avoid placing statues carved out of wood in the northwest corner, as the northwest's element is metal and in the destructive cycle, metal destroys wood. This is counter-productive, and instead of energizing, it may instead suppress, or worse, destroy the mentor luck you're trying to cultivate!
